December 30, 2024 at 5:15 pmRest easy Grandma. You’re still the most intelligent, brave and prideful woman I have ever known. Growing up, you and mom were my greatest role models. That’ll never change. I love you so dearly. I’ll see you again one day.

January 22, 2025 at 3:13 pmNancy was my administrative assistant during the one year that I served as Head of the Division of Composition, Musicology, and Theory at CCM. She was a genius, working out all the financial issues that I knew nothing about. She could have been the university’s chief financial officer. Sometimes the vice-provost would make appointments with her, and the two of them would huddle in my outer office and wrestle with the university’s financial problems. I could not have survived that year without her competent help and loving kindness.
