Lee (LeRoy) Bernard Pleiman, 76, passed away due to complications from pancreatic cancer at his home in Union, Kentucky, on July 1st, 2016. He was born to Albin and Alma Pleiman (nee Baumer) in Sidney, Ohio. He graduated from Anna High School and served in the Army Reserves. He attended the University of Dayton and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He attended Washington State University and graduated with a masters degree in electrical engineering. He attended Catholic University and George Washington University in Washington D.C. where he obtained a business degree, and he also completed courses at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Maryland. He was employed at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) where he worked for 29 years.
He was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marlene (nee Borgert), his first son, Darren and Donna (nee Smith) and two grandsons, Anderson and Carson; his second son, Christopher and Rosalie (nee Schneider) and three grandchildren, Brittany Schneider and fiancé David Sloan, Mason Wiltfong, and Luke Pleiman. Also three great grandchildren, Sophia, Nathan, and Logan. Lastly his loving daughter Holly Pleiman. He is survived by a sister, Sr. Linda, a brother, Fr. Kenneth, and a brother-in-law, Donald Knapke. His other sister Marjorie Knapke (nee Pleiman) and his second daughter Lea Pleiman are deceased.
Lee was once a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the board for the Triple Crown Home Owners Association and the Triple Crown County Club. He was instrumental in the creation of the parks and landscaping in the Triple Crown Country Club community.
A memorial service will be held July 16, 2016 (Sat.) at 11:30 am at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Union, Kentucky. If desired, in lieu of flowers or plants, memorial donations may be made to the St. Timothy’s School Fund, 10272 U.S. Hwy 42, P.O. Box 120, Union, KY 41091.
