Dan Hoberland, 72 of Union, KY passed away April 28. 2024. Dan was born in State Center, Iowa to Lowell & Gladys Hoberland. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rebecca Hoberland (nee Smith), children Emilie Pauciulo and Christian Hoberland, grandchildren Lindsey, Owen and Ethan Pauciulo and Elliana Hoberland, and sisters Peggy Peggy Kinnetz and Loretta Hughes. He is preceded in death by his brother Jim Hoberland and sister Ilo Pericho. Dan graduated from Zearing High School in Zearing, Iowa in 1969 and Des Moines Area Community College with an associates degree in mechanics in 1973. Dan’s favorite past-time was boating on Lake Cumberland and Lake Norris. He self-contracted the construction of their waterfront home in the Sunset Bay development in Tennessee, which still is a favorite family gathering place. Dan traveled extensively both domestic and internationally from Australia to many European countries. He was a tractor mechanic, fleet manager, finance manager, purchasing manager and owned Rosemont Inn B&B in Vevay, Indiana. Dan was director of the tourism board for Switzerland County, Indiana for a number of years. A celebration of life in being planned at his home in Tennessee at a later date.
